Obviously most of us can do an ok job painting a room. But a true professional painter knows how to do a great job. Obviously, pros like True Transformations Painting, have more experience than the average person, and we know the techniques and tricks that make our work even better than average. And after all, isn’t that what you want from your professional painter in northern Colorado? Now, we would like to share with you some of those secrets. Now keep in mind, these secrets of a great painting job won’t necessarily cut painting time, however they do enhance the quality of workmanship and give you better results. A quality painter could spend 2-4 days prepping and painting an average size room. That’s how long it takes to prep, prime and paint correctly. Is it more work? Of course, but after all when you stand back you want to admire the results from your professional Greeley Painter.
To Start off you will want to move everything out of the room. Every painting professional from Loveland to Fort Collins and Greeley to Windsor, has a horror story about the one time he didn’t follow this most fundamental and important Rule No. 1. Bigger pieces of furniture often can be left covered in the center of larger rooms, but if you are repairing drywall, you really want to remove everything from the room you will paint. Drywall dust simply goes everywhere, under everything, and gets on anything. You will want to remove all doors, light fixtures and hardware, and label everything with masking tape. Labeling is of the upmost importance so you know where everything goes once your room has been painted and it is time to hang those doors, replace those windows, etc. Another HUGE tip is to invest in drop cloths. It is amazing how well a few drops of paint can cover an unprotected floor. Unless you are planning on replacing your hardwood flooring, or fixing a lot of floor tiles, you will want to make sure the floor is well covered with the right drop cloth material. Purchase high quality drop cloths, such as canvas or paper-backed plastic and keep in mind paint can soak right through the cheaper lightweight fabrics and bedsheets. As well plastic sheeting works, but it is very slippery and doesn’t absorb drips well.

That is it for now, for our regular Greeley House Painters Tips and Tricks. We hope you find this valuable, informative and helpful. If you find that you need a Professional Painter to complete the job please call us for a FREE no obligation price quote CALL TODAY (970) 301-8927

– Sand Away Flaws – A Greeley House Painter Secret

To get a truly great home paint job you really need to start with a perfectly smooth surface for everything from walls to woodwork. You could look at the perfect Painter job title as Sander in many respects, since the Pro Painter spends so much time in surface prep and pushing sandpaper. Sanding your painting surface includes leveling out spackle, joint-compound patches and flattening ridges around nail holes. Proper sanding removes all burrs and rough spots in your trim, for the perfect paint job.

Sand the walls from the baseboard to the ceiling with fine grit sanding paper on a sanding pole. Then sand horizontally along the baseboard and ceiling. Don’t put a lot of pressure on the sanding pole or the head can flip over and damage the wall. Sand woodwork with a sanding sponge to get into crevices.

Put the time into the prep work, and the time spent on the actual painting of your house will be shortened and much more enjoyable. Every time you attack one of those surface imperfections, you are actually perfecting the final product which is the professional painting of your house, home or business.

Exterior Painting – Tips and Tricks for today

Exterior Painting – Tips and Tricks for today

Brought to you by – True Transformations Painting

So you have the house, you have the paint and you think you might just possibly have a paint brush or two and maybe even an old  roller buried somewhere in the back of your garage. So now you are all ready to tackle painting the house, right? Wrong! When it comes to exterior surface painting, just a little bit of care up front is all the difference between a great paint job and a botched paint job.

The first step for any painting project is to ensure you have the proper materials.

– Paint (the right paint for the painting job)
– Brushes and rollers (The right paint brushes and rollers for the job)
– Drop Clothes (Protect the surrounding areas that aren’t being painted)
– Ladder (The right ladder for the job – One that will keep you from overreaching)
– Surface preparation tools such as scrapers, cloths, caulking guns and sandpaper

Now to begin you can start prepping the exterior

– Remove any and ALL cracked or peeling paint
– Caulking any and ALL holes
– Smooth out any and ALL imperfections
– Tape around any and ALL areas that you don’t want any paint to touch
– Make sure any and ALL the surfaces that are going to be painted have been cleaned and dried

Now you’re ready to paint. The type of surface to be painted dictates which tool to use. Spray guns and rollers are great for large areas that do not require small precision strokes such as walls, concrete, stucco or other flat surfaces. Using a brush will take longer, but a paint brush
is the ideal painting tool for more detailed areas like window sills, trim and railings. Choose a dry, warm day and start in a shaded area. Work from the top of the house to the bottom, and leave the trim until last. And remember, details, care and patience will make your painting job look professional.

Painting your house may seem easy, get a ladder, a couple brushes, some paint, and go to work. But in all actuality it takes a great amount of care and detail with a professional, step by step, attitude to get the job done right the first time. Do you want your house to look like a professional painted it or an amateur? Do you want the details to look like someone cared or someone slopped the paint on? Taking those small steps, and taking the time necessary to do the job right, is what it takes.

Many times hiring a professional, like True Transformations Painting in Greeley, provides you with the perfect painting job for your most valued possession and is exactly what a home buyer needs. What is YOUR time worth? If it takes you three times as long to get a so so job, is it worth doing it yourself? If hiring a professional painter gets the job done, looks professional and gives you time to spend with family, friends and other things that you value, is what you really want
then call True Transformations Painting, Greeley’s Premier Painting Company,  today  (970) 301-8927.
